1851 SOCIETY

An Exclusive Social Club at the Story Inn

PURPOSE

Club Philosophy and Goals. The 1851 Society (the “Club”) is a social club formed for the purpose of fostering enlightened conversation among members and their guests while enjoying fine food and wine in a pristine, rural setting. The foundation of enduring social and business relationships, as well as the bonds of trust and threads of common interests which unite and civilize us as a species, are forged from pleasant, leisurely and civilized discourse over food and wine.

Minimum Prerequisites of Membership. Resident and Non-Resident Members alike must be twenty-one (21) years of age, possess an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, and appreciate fine food and wine.

Other Factors Considered for Membership. The Selection Committee will give weight to prospective members who have achieved notable accomplishments in business, science, academics, art, music, athletics, literature or politics.

The Club Membership Dues. Dues for Resident and Non-Resident Members, whether Annual or Lifetime, shall be established by the Story Inn from time to time.
There are additional categories of membership including Corporate Members, Small Business Members and Junior Members (under age 35) (both Resident and Non-Resident). Initiation Fees are required as well.
