Brown County Sheriff Clarence Moore made local headlines when he confiscated a wood fired still at Story in 1932.  The Story Inn bar, aptly called the Story Still is located downstairs, below the Story Inn Restaurant.

Edwin Guy Story (Enoch Sylvester’s son), Hellen Aileen, Grandma Nicky (Nicholson), Vivian May, Richard Edwin, Grandma story (Eve Mae Nicholson Story) and June Evelyn Gilchrist (picture taken in 1918).

Enoch Sylvester Story, born 1862 in Story, Indiana. Enoch was the son of David Story, grandson of Dr. George P. Story.

Having obtained the General Store from Alra Wheeler in 1922, John S. Morrison and B. Richard Kelley operated it for about three years, and sold it to Albert "Pink' Hedrick in 1925.  The Hedrick family operated the General Store for several years thereafter.  Hedrick's descendants still populate southern Brown County.  Pictured in front of the General Store are Dorothy Morrison, Omer's daughter, John S. Morrison, Dwight and Beulah Jean Kelley, Richard's children, B. Richard Kelley, John Morrison's son-in-law, and Omer Morrison, John's son.   Photo taken in 1922.
