The Old Mill Loft

The Old Mill Loft is our most spacious cottage.  We spent the entire winter of 2005-6 renovating this historic old grain mill into a dining hall downstairs, and a tourist cottage above.  Guests must enter the old mill itself, replete with its Depression-era grain milling equipment, and walk up a wooden staircase into the most unique overnight accommodation in Brown County.  In the loft, you will find an cheery bright atrium with a greenhouse and a 250 gallon horse trough which serves as a bathtub.  All finishes are locally-sourced and compatible with the structure: We cannibalized galvanized steel from a damaged old building onsite, and paneled the walls and floors of the Loft with wood we harvested, milled and dried onsite.  Queen-sized bed, full bath (with shower for the less venturesome), mini-refrigerator, coffeemaker. $199.00.
