We believe the Story Inn to be Indiana's most desirable place for weddings, large and small. It's a place of unparalleled natural beauty, a historic 19th century village surrounded by forest, and fields with grazing horses. It's a place where you can enjoy elegant food, music, and wines in a rural, rustic setting.

Katya and Matvey Lapin, married at the Story Inn July 24, 2004.  They are chamber musicians from the Indiana School of Music in nearby Bloomington, who perform regularly at the Story Inn.  They are available to perform at your wedding, too.

 

Dining:

We can accommodate groups of up to 80 people in the General Store, and 35 people on the Porch or 40 in the Old Mill.  We recently restored the Old Mill, which now has a hickory floor and pine walls from locally-harvested trees. In mild weather, we can accommodate larger groups at the Old Barn, or at other lovely locations on the property, under a tent.  On Saturdays, the Old Barn is available only to parties of 100 or more.  A facility rental fee may apply.

Menus:

We offer three elegant menu packages: "The Figaro", at $35/person; "The Four Seasons" at $45/person, and "The Pastoral" at $55/person.  We can customize your wedding meal within each package.  These menus are only offered buffet-style to groups of 100 or more.  In the event your wedding party is 15 or fewer, you may wish to simply order off our dinner menu and select a wine from our wine list or a beer from our beer list. 

Accoutrements:

We can provide or arrange for many additional items and services: tents, tables & chairs, cakes for the bride and groom, ice sculptures, flowers, custom decorations, DJ, band, photographer, video, and carriage rides.  We can even provide a Chamber Music ensemble (Duo Amabile being pictured below, left).  The owner's daughter, Ingrid Hofstetter, (pictured below, right) is a classically-trained soprano who can perform at your wedding.
